A ToughTail service plan is required to enable cellular data (like a phone). Without a plan, the device can still function as a smart boundary system, but you will not receive alerts and cannot Live Track over cellular.

Why RTK matters
Why it’s needed: standard GPS can drift 1–3 meters. RTK uses live correction data so your Guidance Collar holds a consistent edge at the fence line and plots repeatable tracks—critical for precise boundaries and working dogs. It gets us to 3–5 cm resolution—yes, you read that right.
How it works: a network of ground reference stations measures the same satellites your collar sees and streams real‑time error‑corrections. The collar fuses those corrections with its own GNSS measurements to resolve a centimeter‑level “RTK fixed” position in the field.
