Boundary Guidance

An optional setting that plays an audio cue when your pet leaves a Virtual Fence or enters a Restricted Zone.

One setting for all zones.

Turn Guidance on or off for all Virtual Fences and Restricted Zones together. No approach warnings or progressive stages.

With Guidance on, the tracker sounds as your pet leaves a Virtual Fence.

Progressive Guidance

Staged feedback as your dog approaches, reaches, and crosses a boundary. One example setup:

  1. Sound

    An early cue as your dog approaches the boundary.

  2. Vibration

    A reminder as your dog reaches the edge.

  3. Static (Optional)

    A cue when your dog crosses, if enabled for this stage.

Choose the cue for each stage in the app. Available cue types depend on your device. Guidance turns on or off for all Virtual Fences and Restricted Zones together.

How it works & what to expect

Powered by RTK technology, the service uses live correction data from a third-party network of fixed reference stations to help reduce GPS positioning errors.

Requires a compatible Guidance Collar™, correction-service coverage, and connectivity. Accuracy varies with signal conditions, movement, and setup.

What does the Precision Network Plan include?
Your plan gives a compatible Guidance Collar access to a continuous stream of GPS correction data. The collar combines it with satellite readings to help reduce positioning errors.
Do I need my phone nearby, or can corrections arrive over Wi-Fi or cellular?
Corrections can reach your collar through supported Wi-Fi or cellular connections, or through the ToughTail app on your phone. A nearby phone is only needed when the app is forwarding corrections to the collar over Bluetooth.
Is this separate from my cellular plan?
Yes. The Precision Network Plan provides access to correction data, while your cellular plan provides the collar’s mobile internet connection.
Do I need to install a base station?
No. The Precision Network uses existing reference stations, so you don’t need to install your own base station.
Is centimeter-level accuracy guaranteed?
No—centimeter-level accuracy is possible in suitable coverage and GPS signal conditions. Fresh corrections, surroundings, movement, and the collar’s GPS fix all affect the result.
